Reports prepared by WODEC since its inception are:

Flora and fauna investigations.

  • A fauna and flora survey conducted at Wongabri Estate, Moss Vale. Report prepared for Australian Lifestyle Corporation Pty Ltd during October 2006.

This project required the preparation of a flora and fauna assessment report that was to accompany the projects Development Application. The flora and fauna investigation drew upon a range of standard diurnal and nocturnal survey techniques, these being used to determine the diversity of species present. The conservation status of those species recorded was determined based on a review of the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995, the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and relevant publications prepared by Council. The ecological assessments undertaken drew on the assessment criteria provided in association with Section 5A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

  • An investigation and assessment of the roadside vegetation that occurs adjacent to Condobolin to Tullamore Roads. Report prepared for Lachlan Shire Council during August 2007.

WODEC were engaged to determine the ecological impacts associated with the realignment of a 2 kilometre section of the Condobolin to Tullamore Road. The onsite investigations required the identification of those plants, animals, vegetation communities and fauna habitats present within, and adjacent to, the areas of likely impact. The report produced at the completion of the investigation gave consideration to the obligations of Section 5A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

Biodiversity reports.

  • A roadside vegetation assessment prepared within the Goulburn Mulwaree Council Area. Report prepared for Goulburn Mulwaree Council during February 2007.

This project involved the assessment of vegetation alongside some 280 kilometres of council-managed roads. The roadside manual produced from the assessment included descriptions and mapping of the vegetation, its condition and ranking of its conservation value, the presence of any threatened species and/or noxious weeds and recommendations for appropriate management. It has been used by Council to assist in the preparation of REFs and guidance of maintenance works.

  • A flora and fauna investigation of the proposed Wianamatta Regional Park, St Marys Report prepared for the Department of Environment and Climate Change during January 2008.

WODEC were required to determine the diversity of plants and animals present within the proposed Wianamatta Regional Park. A suite of standard flora and fauna survey methods were employed, the investigation being undertaken over two season.

Vegetation management plans.

WODEC were required to provide management plans for the following developments. The plans provided planting schedules, appropriate weeding techniques and other management strategies for the rehabilitation of various development sites.

  • A Concept Vegetation Management Plan prepared for a proposed residential release area, Kiama, NSW. Report prepared for Boral Limited during June 2007.

  • A Weed Management Plan prepared for the Towra Point area, Kurnell, NSW. Report prepared for the Department of Environment and Climate Change during June 2007.

  • A Vegetation Management Plan prepared for the Illawarra Ridge Golf Course Development, Darkes Forest, NSW. Report prepared for Links Illawarra Developments Pty Ltd during November 2007.
